Damaris Pyle

Damaris Pyle hails from the East Coast, is a Bay Area traveler since 1973, and lives in Fort Bragg.

I am a self-taught visual artist with a love of visual expression from a young age. I suppose I was inspired by my grandmother, a lifelong oil painter. In my adolescence, art was my refuge. As a young adult, I got caught up in the practicalities of life, often putting my art expression in the background. But throughout it all, I always maintained the love and desire, and have taken art classes when I could. I consider myself fortunate to now be at a point when I can really focus on my art.

I have experimented with many forms of painting. I consider myself to be a mixed media artist, incorporating color, texture, collage, and objects from nature. I utilize various types of paint media, including acrylic, watercolor, acrylic inks, and alcohol inks. I use a variety of textural mediums, including molding and crackle paste. And always, I am inspired by nature in her many forms, which I utilize in my art when I can.
