Kate Skinner

Kate Skinner, a resident of the North Coast for 27 years, calls the picturesque town of Mendocino, California, her home. Beyond the breathtaking landscapes that surround her, Kate's artistry emerges on canvas, conveying personal messages and unleashing artistic creativity that challenges viewers both visually and intellectually.

Kate's artistic journey commenced at Solano Community College, where she laid the foundation for her passion. She pursued Fine Arts studies at UCLA, studying the human form under the guidance of renowned professor Sam Amato and then with professor Gary Brown at UCSB.

As Kate delved into the world of academia, she found herself pursuing excellence not only in art but also in the pool. Simultaneously honing her skills as a competitive swimmer, Kate reached the pinnacle of her academic and athletic pursuits at UC Santa Barbara, where she earned her degree in Fine Arts.

Kate's professional journey took her into the realm of visual media, where she served as a camera operator and pre-press production artist for commercial printers. Her expertise extended to various newspaper publications, where she left her mark in production and as an editorial illustrator.

Today, Kate Skinner's artistic odyssey continues to evolve, each stroke of her brush telling a story, each canvas a testament to a life richly lived and creatively expressed.
